Dickey Betts toured with Great Southern in 2002 on almost nothing: a discontinued Ibanez echo unit, and a wah his technician plugged in for a few songs and pulled out again straight after.

## Reconstruction note

In an August 2002 interview, Betts describes a deliberately clean rig: a 50-watt Marshall head, one 4x12 cabinet loaded with JBL speakers and a discontinued Ibanez echo unit that sounded like tape echo. He also says that he used a wah on only a couple of songs and had his technician Carlos remove it from the line immediately afterward. Vintage Guitar's career retrospective independently confirms the period's core 50-watt Marshall and JBL-loaded cabinet configuration. Neither source identifies the echo or wah model, supplies settings, or traces their jack-to-jack order. The display therefore preserves both devices at the level the evidence supports, places the wah first as a conventional functional reconstruction, and treats it as a temporary element rather than a permanently wired board.
