Dimebag Darrell
Dimebag drove his Randall amplifiers with two deliberately opposed EQ stages, controlled the resulting noise with a rack gate and placed the wah last before the amps.

Dimebag directly gives the order as Furman PQ-4, blue MXR six-band EQ, Rocktron Hush 2-B, Cry Baby and amplifiers. Guitar World's later gear history independently explains how the parametric EQ made a broad cut and the MXR restored a narrow mid band while both boosted the amp input. The documented MXR 126 Flanger/Doubler is excluded from this core path because neither source fixes its insertion point for the 1992 rig. Amplifiers and switching utilities are omitted.
